Hey all,
Just going through some old cases and came across Tammy Hayton's tragic story. It really pulls at my heartstrings to think about how many families are left without answers. From what I've read, Tammy was a beloved member of her community, yet her case, like many others, hasn't seen the justice it deserves.
I keep thinking about the intersection of Waltham and Collingham, where Tammy was found. In some cities, certain areas seem to attract more crime due to a mix of social and economic factors. It makes you wonder if certain patterns were noticed around that area back then. Could increased patrols or community efforts have made any difference?
While we may never know the answer, my thoughts are with Tammy’s family and friends. It’s unfair how many cases from that time faded away without resolution. For anyone here from the Detroit area, what was the community sentiment like right around 2010? Were there efforts to rally for justice, or did it feel like just another tragic number added to an already overwhelming statistic?
Hoping someday we’ll see more attention to these cold cases. Every victim deserves a voice.
Take care,

Hey everyone,
I was recently reading up on some cold cases in Detroit, and I came across the story of Tammy Hayton. It's truly distressing how little information is available about her murder. She was found near Waltham and Collingham in 2010, and it really got me thinking about the lack of closure for her family.
One aspect that stands out to me is just how overwhelmed the police were back then. With so many cases on their plate, I can't even imagine the kind of pressure and difficulty they faced in trying to solve each one. It feels like there were just too many cases slipping through the cracks.
Does anyone know if there have been any efforts to revisit these old cases with fresh eyes or new technology? It would be great to see some progress made, not just for Tammy, but for all the families who are still waiting for justice.
Thinking of Tammy's loved ones and hoping they find some peace.
Take care,

I came across Tammy Hayton's case while reading about the unsolved homicides in Detroit around 2010. It's so distressing to think that stories like Tammy's seem to slip through the cracks, lost among so many others. I've been pondering how a vibrant life like hers—cherished by family and respected within her community—can just vanish without more public outcry or answers. It makes you wonder what more could've been done or what still can be done to shine a light on it today.
The lack of media coverage back then is frustrating; every victim deserves a voice and, most importantly, justice. Maybe someone here knows more or can share insights on how families persist in seeking answers, even when the system fails them. If there's anything we can do as a community to support Tammy's family in their search for justice, I'm all ears. Cases like hers shouldn't be forgotten.
