I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of mental health support in our community, especially after what happened to Selvin "Solo" Harris McEwan. It’s so painful to see how domestic conflicts can end in such devastating loss. I've read that Solo had a reputation for being such a kind and fun-loving person, and it just breaks my heart. I can't help but wonder if there might have been signs or opportunities for intervention before things escalated to this point. It’s easy to look back and question what could've been different, but maybe it’s something to consider for the future. Improving access to mental health services and stress management programs in communities like York might help prevent disputes from spiraling out of control. It’s just so important to keep this conversation going and hopefully create some positive change in such a tragically impacted community. Sending love and strength to Solo’s family and friends as they navigate this unimaginable time. He was clearly a very special person to many.
