Reading about the murder of Brandon Murray is truly distressing, especially considering the struggles she must have faced as a transgender woman in today's world. It's a shame that despite evidence pointing towards Darnese Raines, there wasn't enough to label it as a hate crime. Regardless, the grief her community is experiencing is undeniable. I wanted to take a moment to recognize the strength of those who supported Brandon throughout her life and the unwavering support they gave while seeking justice in her memory. Victims like Brandon deserve to be remembered for the joy they brought to those around them, not just for the tragedy that ended their lives. Sending love to her loved ones during this difficult time.
