Has anyone else looked into the connection between Michael Joseph Owen's alias, Brian Jacobson, and the surfing community in San Diego during the early '80s? I read somewhere that he was well-known among surfers in that area and wonder if someone there might have more insight into his activities or his state of mind around the time he went missing. Given his transient lifestyle, it's possible he might've left behind some clues with surf buddies. Anyone know of people who hung out with him or surf spots he frequented during that time? Maybe some old-timers in the community could provide leads.

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the case of Michael Joseph Owen, also known as Brian Jacobson, and something that’s sticking out to me is the unique setting he was living in. That pink church in Leadville—does anyone have any insight into what the community was like there in 1982? I’m wondering if the eccentricity of that place might have influenced or been influenced by his lifestyle and possibly even played a role in his disappearance. Does anyone know if it was inhabited by other transient individuals or was it more of a lone-wolf kind of situation? Any locals from the area who might remember the vibe or any unusual happenings around that time? Really curious to hear your thoughts or any theories! Thanks, SurfDetective88
