Does anyone have more info on the route Sheila took on the day she vanished? It seems like every detail around her last known movements could be crucial. I mean, she disappeared after leaving her probation officer's office, right? So what happened between there and her home? Maybe there are residents or businesses along the way that might have seen something back then. I've also been wondering if the walk itself was unusual for her, like, was it something she would regularly do, or was that day an exception since her sister couldn't give her a ride? Could knowing more about her usual routines give us any insights?

I’ve been reading about Sheila Cooks, and one thing I can’t stop thinking about is that walk she took the day she disappeared. I mean, 2.5 miles in 1979 might not seem like much today, but I wonder how populated or safe that route might have been back then. It seems risky to be on foot alone for that distance, especially considering her age and the circumstances. I’ve looked at some maps of Austin from that time, and the areas she would have walked through were a mix of residential and commercial properties. Does anyone know if there were any particular locations along that route that had a reputation, good or bad? Or maybe places where people would frequently congregate? Also, I wonder if anyone had eyes on Sheila during that walk. You’d think someone might have seen an eighteen-year-old walking by herself, but if they did, it doesn’t seem like it made it into the reports. Did the police ever do a canvass in that area for potential witnesses? Her case has really captivated me, and I keep considering all the people she might have encountered, even if just in passing. It’s such a haunting thought. Any locals or history buffs who might know more about what that area was like back then?
