Hey everyone, I've been following the Tommy Read case and couldn't help but think about how difficult this must be for his family and friends. It's tragic how many lives were affected during that peak in violence in Detroit. It seems like Tommy was caught up in a case that typifies so many unsolved murders from that time: lack of evidence, limited resources, and witnesses unwilling to come forward. I can’t imagine the pain of knowing that justice is still out of reach, years later.
Has anyone heard if there have been any advancements with cold cases recently using new technology or community engagement? It breaks my heart to think there are so many families out there facing the same uncertainty as Tommy’s. It's a reminder of how critical support for law enforcement and community initiatives can be in these areas.
Sending strength to all who loved Tommy. Hoping for a breakthrough soon.
Just thinking about Tommy Read and the ripple effect his death has probably had on his family and the Detroit community. It’s so hard to imagine what his loved ones must be going through, waiting year after year for answers that might never come. It’s terrible to think of how a lack of resources and community trust with law enforcement can leave so many cases like Tommy's stuck in limbo. I’m really hoping that with new forensic technology and renewed community efforts, there might be a breakthrough for Tommy’s case and others like his that are still unresolved. It feels like every unsolved case leaves a mark not just on the family but on the entire community. If anyone has thoughts on how the community can actually help, I'd love to hear them. We can’t let these cases just remain forgotten.
