Has anyone ever looked into the details around Judith Carol Hofferman's abandoned car at Reagan National? I've always been curious about why her 1971 Volkswagen was found there and whether there was any surveillance footage from that time, though I imagine that might be a long shot for 1980. It just seems odd to me that the car was left at such a busy place without any substantial clues. Did she plan on taking a flight, or was this a red herring set up by someone else? I wonder if there was anything ever found in the car that could point to her intentions or if that's all part of the mystery. It's been decades, but maybe someone who worked at the airport back then might recall something useful!

I recently stumbled upon Judith Carol Hofferman’s case while doing some research, and something keeps nagging at me about her car being found at Reagan National Airport. It's been bugging me why anyone would leave a vehicle there. Was there any evidence that she had bought a plane ticket or even entered the terminal? Airports have always seemed like the last place someone would abandon a car unless they had a pretty good reason or were trying to mislead people. Also, was there any sign inside the car indicating what might have happened? I’m curious if anyone’s looked into airport employees who were working around that time or perhaps reviewed any old footage. It seems like an unusual spot to leave a car if she just vanished on her own. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone familiar with 1980s airport protocols or how such cases were typically handled back then.
