Does anyone here have any insights or theories about the role the Union Rescue Mission might have played in Joseph Schedler’s case? I'm curious if it was common for people staying there around 1980 to have family or law enforcement follow up on them. It's been over 40 years, and it seems odd that there's so little information available. Perhaps there's a chance someone who was there at the Mission during the spring and summer of that year might stumble upon this thread and remember something? It's pretty frustrating that he doesn’t even have a Charley Project profile. I feel like every missing person deserves to have their story told and kept in the public eye. Thoughts on why some cases slip through the cracks?

Has anyone else looked into Joseph Martin Schedler's connections in the Union Rescue Mission at the time he vanished? I'm curious if there are any records or witness accounts from others who might have been staying there around May 1980. With such a transient population, it's challenging, but sometimes people recall the smallest things that can make a difference. It seems like it could be a promising angle to explore, considering the lack of leads otherwise. If anyone has any idea how to access more info about residents or workers from that period, please share! It’s such a long shot, but you never know what could help move things forward in a cold case like this.

Does anyone have any more information about the Union Rescue Mission back in 1980 when Joseph Martin Schedler went missing? I've read that he was staying there, and I'm curious if anyone knows what that environment was like during that time period. It might give us clues about who he could have come into contact with or if there were others who went missing around the same time. I've been digging through old newspapers and archives, but there isn't much to go on. Hoping someone who's familiar with the area or the mission back then can shed some light!
