I've been following the case surrounding the tragic deaths of José Ventura-Jiménez and the 17-year-old victim, and something that deeply resonates with me is the overwhelming number of shell casings found at the scene. Twenty casings paint a terrifying picture of how intense and chaotic the situation must have been. It's horrifying to think about how quickly a dispute can spiral into something so deadly. I can't even begin to imagine the pain and fear these young men must have felt in those final moments. It's clear that the community is struggling to process this unimaginable loss, and my heart goes out to the families who are left to grapple with such a devastating reality. I genuinely hope that the investigation brings them some answers and that those responsible are held accountable. It also serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need to find ways to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence. No family should have to suffer such a tragic and senseless loss.

Did anyone else hear about the background of NyJee Jefferson? I've been following the case of José Ventura-Jiménez and can’t help but wonder how Jefferson got to this point. It's disturbing to think about the number of times gunfire was exchanged that night. Twenty shell casings at the scene? That's so intense and seems far beyond just a heated argument gone wrong. I'm holding onto hope that the investigation sheds light on what led up to that moment. My heart goes out to José's family and the other young victim's family—it’s such an unimaginable loss. How do we rally as a community to prevent such a tragedy from happening again?
