I've been following the De'Avry Thomas case closely, and one element that truly stands out is the response from the community. In the wake of such unimaginable loss, it's both comforting and inspiring to see how people are coming together to support De'Avry's family. The plans for the community center announced by De'Avry's godfather, Kahlil Darden, show a beautiful commitment to turning tragedy into an opportunity for growth and healing. These kinds of grassroots initiatives can make a big difference in the fight against gun violence by providing kids with safe spaces and productive activities. It's a meaningful way to honor De'Avry and hopefully prevent others from suffering the same fate. I hope the center gets the support it needs to become a reality and truly make an impact. My thoughts are with De'Avry's family, especially his mom, Deashea Green. The strength she’s shown is incredible, and I admire her bravery in speaking out despite her pain. Here's hoping for healing and changes that can protect other families in the future.
