Hi everyone,
I've been following Edwin R. Diaz-Rivera's case and trying to piece together how the community is dealing with this loss. I came across a local news report reflecting on his work as a barber, and it really struck me how much he was loved by his clients. Many described Poc as more than just a barber—he was a mentor and a friend, someone who always had time to listen to the problems and joys of those who sat in his chair.
In reading his obituary, it's clear he poured so much love into his family, and I can't help but feel for Merahya and their children. It's tough to reconcile the complex emotions when a life is taken, even when a legal ruling justifies it.
Does anyone else have stories or memories of Poc that might help paint a fuller picture of who he was in everyday life? I think it can be healing to share and celebrate the positive impacts he had.
Sending strength to his family and friends.
I've been following this case, and while the investigation is over, I've been thinking a lot about the impact on Edwin's kids. Losing a parent so suddenly must be incredibly difficult for them. I read that he has nine children, and I can't begin to imagine how they're coping. My heart goes out to them; they must be carrying so much pain.
They've lost someone who was a big part of their everyday life, and it's not just the absence of a father but apparently a community figure as well. I'm curious if there's been any efforts in Allentown to support them, like community fundraisers or outreach programs. It's times like these when community support can make such a difference. If anyone has any info or ideas on how people can help, please share. I hope they find the strength they need surrounded by love and support during this time.
