It's been a year since Zamire W. Allen was taken from this world, and it still feels so surreal. I stumbled upon his story while reading about unsolved cases in Philly, and Zamire's really stuck with me. He was only 22, just starting out in life, and from what I gather, he had this contagious energy about him that drew people in. I want to turn my attention to something that often gets overlooked—the impact on Zamire's family and friends. They've been through such a devastating ordeal, trying to come to terms with the loss and waiting for the legal process to bring some semblance of justice. As the trial against Ricardo Scott and Jamica Boston approaches, I can only imagine the myriad emotions his loved ones must be experiencing—anger, sadness, hope, frustration. It's important for us as a community to stand by them and provide support in any way we can. Sharing memories and stories about Zamire could be a way to celebrate his life and keep his spirit alive. If anyone here had the chance to know him or has stories they'd like to share, I think it would be a wonderful way to remember who he was beyond the headlines. It's so important that our community not only seeks justice but also focuses on healing and honoring those we've lost. Sending love and strength to those who loved Zamire.
