I’ve been thinking about Betty Averytt’s story a lot lately, and I can't imagine the pain her family is going through. Losing someone so vibrant and cherished in such a sudden and tragic way is beyond comprehension. I read that in addition to her love for fashion, Betty was also really into decorating. It just goes to show what a creative soul she had. I hope her family finds some comfort in remembering those joyful traits she shared with the world. The fact that her loved ones have turned their grief into a call for ending gun violence is incredibly brave and inspiring. Hopefully, their courage will help spur meaningful changes in Pittsburgh and beyond. Has anyone else been moved to action after following this case? How can we support efforts to keep communities like ours safe?
