Mary Jo was an amazing person inside and out, she did not deserve this ending as no one does. Mary Jo was my cousin. I have not had any update on the case. I have called and received no response.

Hey everyone,
I've been following Mary Jo Choate's case, and something that's been on my mind is the impact of limited resources on solving her case. It's incredibly frustrating to think how many families in Detroit are still waiting for justice due to these constraints. The Cold Case Unit in Detroit is doing the best they can, but with the sheer volume of cases and limited manpower, it feels like they’re fighting an uphill battle.
It's disappointing to see promising leads go cold simply because there aren't enough hands to explore every avenue. The fact that communities often don't have enough funding to support solving these cases makes it even harder. I wonder if there's anything we, as a community, can do to help lighten the load. Maybe more advocacy for funding or resources could make a difference?
My thoughts are with Mary Jo’s loved ones. They deserve answers and closure, just like so many other families in Detroit. Let's hope that with advancements in technology and community support, we can see more of these cases resolved. If anyone has ideas on how we can help push this forward, I'd love to hear them.
Stay safe, everyone!
I’ve been following cold cases in Detroit for a while now and came across the case of Mary Jo Choate. It's truly tragic how many families are left without answers. I’ve always wondered how much community involvement could help push these cases forward. There are so many people who might have seen or heard something, even if they don't realize it's important. Sometimes small details can make a huge difference.
Is there anyone here who knows about initiatives or community meetings where people can safely share what they know without fearing repercussions? It feels like there’s a real need for more public platforms where information can be shared anonymously. Maybe if more people come together and talk about it, we can help support the detectives working on these cold cases. Families like Mary Jo's deserve an end to their uncertainty.
