Has anyone else been thinking about the role of unsung heroes in tragic cases like Reserve Officer Harold Wintrow's? It's incredibly moving to read about the truck driver who happened to be nearby during that chaotic moment on East Avenue. If it weren’t for their quick thinking and ability to use a police radio to call for help, the aftermath might have been even worse. I can’t even begin to imagine the courage it took to step into such a volatile situation, especially considering the danger that the scene posed. This person didn’t have a badge or a uniform, but they did what they could to make sure help was on the way. These are the kinds of actions that make a difference and stick with me as a reminder of human kindness amid tragedy. Sending love to Officer Wintrow’s family and all those affected by the events of that day. It’s a testament to both the bravery of those in uniform and the ordinary people who step up when the unthinkable happens.
