I can't help but reflect on the incredible travesty of justice faced by the families of Billy Lavaco and Judith Straub. Years went by with Dennis Busson under the microscope, only for Edward Wayne Edwards to later confess. What shocks me is that despite Edwards' confession, the case couldn't be truly closed because of his health and eventual passing. It's a punch to the gut to think someone could admit their guilt, yet due to circumstances, there’s no real closure or justice served. My heart goes out to the families who have to live with the constant reminder that justice slipped through their fingers. Hopefully, their memory will continue to inspire those working on cold cases to keep pursuing answers and justice diligently.
