I was reading about Judith Straub and Billy Lavaco's case, and I can't stop thinking about the trauma that must have haunted their families for over 30 years. Imagine not knowing who took your loved ones away so violently and suddenly. It’s gut-wrenching to consider the heartbreak and frustration they faced, especially for Judith's parents, who likely saw her purse and shoes left in her car—a chilling reminder of normalcy shattered. The fact that Edwards not only took their lives but allegedly revisited the crime scene with his daughter is beyond disturbing. It leaves me wondering how many more similar secrets Ed Edwards carried with him and what other families are still grieving without answers. At the very least, I hope Judith and Billy’s families received some amount of peace after his confession, even though nothing can truly make up for such a loss.
