I was wondering about the impact that Regina Powell's case had on the local community in Portsmouth after everything came to light. I've read about cases where the shockwaves last for years, and I imagine this must have been especially true here given its brutality and the delay in justice. Did this lead to any changes in local law enforcement practices or community initiatives to better protect people from similar crimes? It hurts to think about what Regina’s family must have gone through, and it would be something if at least some positive change came from this tragedy. If anyone knows more about the community's response, I'd be very interested.
