I also find it moving that his son, Seth, chose a career in law enforcement. It must be incredibly difficult, but perhaps he feels a profound connection to his dad's values and service. It makes you appreciate how the ripple effects of these events are felt in the lives of those left behind. It’s these personal stories that drive home how much a single life can impact so many others. Thinking of the McDowell family and everyone affected by this tragedy.
