I was reading about the tragic loss of Officer Joshua Miktarian, and it got me thinking about the impact such events have on the officers who respond to these distress calls. Officer Miktarian radioed for backup, and while other officers rushed to the scene, it must have been unimaginably stressful and emotional for them. These officers not only have to process the loss of a fellow comrade but also manage a crime scene and comfort the bereaved family shortly after. Coordination and response times are always emphasized during such incidents, but the personal toll on these responding officers isn’t discussed enough. It’s a tough reminder of how police work is not just about physical risks but also emotional and mental challenges. My thoughts are with Officer Miktarian’s family, his fellow officers, and anyone else affected by this tragedy. They all have so much courage, and I hope they find strength in each other and the support from the community.
