I’ve been following Schuyler Mollett’s case for a while now, and something that’s always stood out to me is the role of the informant in solving this tragic crime. It’s so surreal to think that without this person coming forward, justice might have been delayed even further. It must have been incredibly difficult for them to step up, but it's a reminder of the importance of community and courage in these cases. For Schuyler’s family, especially knowing Fields had tried to present himself as a friend, this must have been such a shocking revelation. I can’t imagine the pain of losing someone so dear and then discovering such a betrayal from someone they probably once trusted. If there’s any silver lining, it’s that their strength and persistence to see this case through to justice has been unwavering. Hoping that this development offered them some solace, and grateful to the person who had the courage to speak up. Schuyler deserves to be remembered, not just for how he died, but for the kind soul he was.
