Hey everyone, I've been thinking about the devastating case of Marques Green, and my heart goes out to his family. What caught my attention is the role of gun safety training in this situation. It seems like Elizabeth Green had the proper training and a legal permit, which makes me wonder if there needs to be more emphasis on what to do once you actually own a gun. Having the training is one thing, but effectively practicing safe storage is another. I can't help but feel that if there were more robust community resources or programs aimed at reinforcing these practices, perhaps these tragic incidents could be avoided. Does anyone know of any local initiatives or organizations in Hamilton, or elsewhere, that are trying to tackle these kinds of issues? I believe raising awareness and education can save lives.
