I can't even begin to imagine how his sister, Kelly, and his uncle, Scott, must feel navigating the aftermath of such a senseless tragedy. The fact that Nicholas was just visiting a friend’s apartment and got caught in the crossfire is beyond devastating. It makes me think about how vulnerable we all are to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The resilience his family has shown throughout the trial and now with the resentencing is truly remarkable. It’s a sobering reminder of the importance of seeking justice while also advocating for a system that treats everyone fairly, regardless of race or background.
