I still can't wrap my head around how the Freeman murders have impacted our community in Akron. I've been following the case for a while now, and it's just chilling every time I hear about what happened. What strikes me the most apart from Sonia’s tragic passing is the resilience of her young daughter. Imagine being just 9 years old and having to witness such an unspeakable tragedy. Her bravery in identifying the intruders is something I'm truly in awe of. It's a testament to the strength she inherited from her mom, Sonia, who was known for her loving nature and dedication to her community. Even after the sentencing of Jaysaun Holley and Shaquille Anderson, I can't help but feel the weight of this crime on the local community. Sonia's impact was clearly significant, as seen with her involvement at New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Not to forget, mentoring at the church must have made her an integral part of so many people's lives. Justice might have reached a conclusion in the courts, but the emotional toll feels like it's still very present. I really hope the community continues to rally around her daughter, providing the love and support she needs moving forward. Anyone else from Akron who can share insight or thoughts on how the community has been doing since?
