I’ve been reading about the case of Jimmie Holland Jr., and I keep thinking about the role that Jasmine Schafer played. It’s incredibly troubling to me that someone could point out a target so casually, resulting in such a devastating crime. I know people might argue about her intentions or whatever reasons led to her decision, but the consequences are real and permanent for Jimmie's family and friends.
It must be unimaginably difficult for his loved ones to process that a person could make such a lethal suggestion without considering the ripple effect it would have. Community control for her feels too light when you consider the part she played in this tragedy.
I just hope this situation brings more awareness to how serious our actions can be, and that some good might come out of such a terrible loss by preventing others from making similar harmful choices. My thoughts are with Jimmie’s family as they continue to heal from this.
