I've been following the Freeman Small case and something that's been on my mind is the incredible community support that has emerged since that awful day in October 2016. It's evident just how much he meant to so many people. The tributes and stories shared have painted a picture of a man who truly cared for everyone he crossed paths with. His impact was profound, and it's clear that his spirit continues to ripple through Cleveland.
For those dealing with this loss, I can't even begin to understand the depth of the sorrow. It's moving to see how everyone has come together to honor his life and legacy. I think it's a testament to who he was and the love he showed those around him. If anyone is willing, I'd love to hear more personal stories or memories of Freeman—it's important that we keep his kindness alive in our hearts.
I can't stop thinking about Freeman's favorite spot at the park where he'd often take long walks with his rescue dog, Max. It's become somewhat of an unofficial memorial now. Every time I pass by, I see flowers, notes, and even dog toys left in honor of him. It's incredibly touching how many people he affected, even beyond those who knew him personally. Max looks a bit lost these days without his best friend by his side, and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. The simple things he enjoyed, like those quiet moments in nature, really speak to the kind of person he was—someone who appreciated the beauty in everyday life. Freeman's legacy of kindness and care for others is being kept alive by everyone who stops at that park bench, takes a moment to remember him, and reflects on their own lives. My heart goes out to his family and friends who were lucky enough to share those moments with him. Let's continue sharing his light and compassion in our own small ways.
