I’ve been thinking a lot about the role that the blurry security video played in the outcome of Deonte Baber's trial. It’s so concerning to realize how pivotal and vital this piece of evidence was, even with its lack of clarity. I can't imagine the emotional rollercoaster both Jamie Urton’s family and Baber’s loved ones must have gone through, knowing that such a blurry video was a key factor in the trial. While I understand that the jury was convinced with the evidence presented, it makes me wonder about the reliability of such footage in court cases. As technology evolves, should we be pushing for better standards in video quality if it’s to be used as crucial evidence in determining someone's fate? It’s a truly agonizing situation for all parties involved, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.
