Hey everyone, I've been following Quentin Sandelin's case, and something that's been on my mind is the role of witness testimony in these unsolved cases. It's so frustrating but understandable that people are hesitant to speak up. With the level of violent crime in Detroit, many potential witnesses must feel scared for their own safety. I wish there was a stronger support system in place for witnesses, one where they would feel secure in sharing what they know without fear of retaliation. On the flip side, you can't help but wonder how many crucial pieces of information are just out there, waiting to be shared. I truly believe that someone knows something that could help bring closure to Quentin's family. The Cold Case Unit's initiative to create a webpage seems like a great start, but maybe there needs to be more public campaigns to reassure and protect those who are brave enough to share what they’ve seen or heard. I hope someone comes forward soon—the pain his family must be going through is unimaginable.
