I’ve been following Romel Smith’s case for some time now, and it’s really concerning how many similar cases in Detroit remain unresolved. What strikes me the most is how difficult it can be to get witnesses to come forward. It makes me wonder how many people out there have the crucial information needed to solve these cases but are too afraid to speak up. I can’t imagine the frustration and pain his family must feel, knowing that justice hasn't been served. We all need to think about ways to create a safer environment for people to share what they know without fear of retaliation. Raising awareness and encouraging open dialogue could make a difference. Sending love and strength to Romel’s family and friends. If anyone has ideas on how to support witness protection or any initiatives in Detroit, sharing here could be a good start.
