I've been following Brandon Wylie's case, and something that's been on my mind is the shockingly casual demeanor of the suspects caught on surveillance footage. I can't imagine the pain it must cause Brandon's family to see this footage and know that the people responsible for taking his life showed such indifference immediately afterward. It's hard to comprehend how anyone could be so callous after such a violent act. This detail really highlights the brutality and senselessness of gun violence in our communities. It leaves me wondering about the lack of empathy that allows such violence to continue, and the urgent need for change. My thoughts are with Brandon's family, especially his brother, Henry, who had to speak in court and relive the tragedy. I hope they find some solace in the conviction and can hold onto the memories of Brandon's life, not just his tragic end.
