Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Marshall McGrew's case lately. It's been over a decade since that tragic day in 2012, and it just feels so wrong that there's still no resolution for his family. What really struck me was how this young man somehow found the strength to call his mother after everything he went through. I can't even begin to imagine how she must have felt receiving that call, knowing her son was in such a distressing situation. The lack of resources in Detroit during that time is such a frustrating part of this. They were dealing with so many violent crimes, and cases like Marshall's often didn't get the attention they desperately needed. It's sad seeing how this case ended up as one of many cold cases. I'm hopeful, though, with the Cold Case Unit still working on it. Advances in forensic tech and persistence might eventually bring something to light. If anyone here is from Detroit or has contacts there, maybe some community pressure and outreach could spark new information. Let's not lose hope that one day there will be justice for Marshall and peace for his loved ones.

Hi everyone, I was recently reading about Marshall McGrew’s tragic case, and something that really stood out to me was the lack of witness cooperation. It’s understandable that people might be scared to come forward, especially with safety concerns in areas with high crime rates. But I keep thinking about Marshall’s family, who must be longing for any piece of the puzzle to give them answers. The Cold Case Unit in Detroit does impressive work with the limited resources they have, and I really hope their continued efforts will lead to new information. Maybe with the advancements in forensic technology, something that was overlooked before can bring about a breakthrough. If you’re from the area or know someone who might have been around Joy and Lauder Streets that night, I urge you to reach out. Even the smallest piece of information could make a big difference. Let’s keep Marshall’s story alive and support his family’s hope for justice. Sending thoughts to those who knew and loved Marshall. Stay safe, everyone.
