I've been following Anthony's case for a while, and the involvement of Rasheign Tisdale has been on my mind lately. It's just so saddening to think about how multiple lives have been impacted by that night. Tisdale's decision to plead guilty shows a level of accountability, but it's hard not to wonder about the circumstances that led up to everything happening the way it did. Why were all these young men armed and at an after-hours club? It's frustrating, thinking about how gun violence seems so prevalent, not just in Lima, but throughout the country. It's also difficult to wrap my head around how Anthony's family must be feeling. My heart goes out to his aunt, Necole Brownlow, who sounds like she's been such a strong figure for Anthony and his kids. Her advocacy against gun violence is so important, especially after experiencing such a personal loss. I think about Anthony's children too—Anari and Amariana—and hope they find peace and healing as they grow up, carrying their father's memory with them. It's through their eyes that Anthony's legacy will truly persist.

Hey everyone, I came across something in Anthony Bankston's case that I felt might be worth discussing. I've been thinking a lot about how the justice system handled the sentencing for Jemonte McNeal. On one hand, I'm relieved that they managed to apprehend someone responsible for Anthony's death, but it still feels like 14 years for involuntary manslaughter doesn't quite match the severity of taking someone's life, even with the plea deal. I know deals are often made to wrap up cases more quickly and ensure some level of accountability, but it does make me wonder about the impact on Anthony's loved ones who have to live with this loss every single day. Do you all think justice was truly served in this case? Are sentences like this typical, or does it vary a lot from case to case? Thinking of Anthony's family, especially his children, and wishing them strength as they continue to navigate life without him. Would love to hear your thoughts.
