Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the intersection of Cippewa and Ward where Devon Stephenson was tragically killed back in 2012. It's really unsettling to realize how notorious that area has become for violent crime. I can't even imagine the fear residents nearby must feel on a daily basis, and the anxiety Devon's family probably feels every time they pass by that site or even hear about another incident there.
There was some police presence at the time trying to curb the violence, but it didn't seem like things changed much. I wonder if anyone from the area noticed any tangible improvements since 2012? Has the community been able to come together to push for better safety measures, or does it still feel just as risky?
Sending my thoughts to Devon’s family and friends. I just hope that something can be done to prevent this kind of senseless violence from continuing in places like Cippewa and Ward.
I've been following the Devon Stephenson case, and I'm just struck by how the community around Cippewa and Ward has been coping. It's incredibly challenging to lose someone so young with their whole life ahead of them, but what's even more concerning is the broader issue of safety in the area. I read that the neighborhood has been trying to organize more community watches and youth programs since Devon's tragic death. It feels like his passing might be a catalyst for positive change, which is so desperately needed. My heart goes out to Devon’s family and friends. I can’t imagine the pain they’re enduring. It just makes me wonder, what more can be done at the community level to prevent such tragedies in the future? Anyone here from the area who knows more about these efforts?
I've been following Devon Stephenson's case closely, and something that's really puzzling me is the lack of witness reports. The intersection of Cippewa and Ward is typically busy, even in the late hours, yet it seems like no one has come forward with anything substantial. It makes me wonder about the impact of fear on this community—are people just too scared to speak up? This area has seen a lot of violence, and I'm sure many folks feel stuck in an impossible situation, wanting to help but also protecting themselves and their families. It’s truly difficult to imagine what Devon’s family is going through, knowing there might be people out there who saw something and are too afraid to speak. I'm hoping that with time, someone will feel safe enough to come forward and provide the police with the information needed to bring some resolution to this tragedy.
