Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading through the threads about Cameron Franklin’s case, and something that’s been on my mind is the role of community support in combating youth violence. It’s devastating to think about the loss of such a young life and how his family and friends must be coping. It makes me wonder about the kind of resources and programs that are available in Cincinnati to engage with young people and hopefully prevent these types of tragedies.
I remember seeing how the community rallied with candlelight vigils and listening sessions after Cameron's passing, which shows a deep desire for change. But what I’m curious about is whether more initiatives have been implemented since then. Are there mentorship programs, youth centers, or other efforts that have been put in place, or is there still a struggle to get enough support and funding?
It just seems so crucial that there’s some kind of ongoing dialogue and concrete action to help steer young people away from violence. If anyone has updates on what’s happening in that regard, I’d love to hear more about it. Cameron’s story really touched me, and it feels important for us to keep talking about these issues and pushing for solutions.
Thanks for reading, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.
I was following Cameron Franklin's case and can't stop thinking about how his death reflects the larger issue of gun violence affecting our youth. It’s especially tragic given he was just 14 years old, with his whole life ahead of him. It's been over four years now, and I just can't fathom how his family copes with the lack of justice.
I wonder if increasing community engagement in areas like Lower Price Hill could make a difference. Cameron’s stepmother, Jennifer, mentioned the need for youth to stay out of the streets, and there’s real truth in that. Maybe if we all pushed for more after-school programs or safe hangout spots, it would help steer kids in a better direction. The fact that city leaders have rallied shows there’s hope, but we all need to collectively demand change to protect more kids from ending up like Cameron. ?
It's frustrating to think there are still no suspects in custody, and my heart goes out to his dad, William, for having to endure this. If you know anything or have ever wondered whether your piece of info might help, don’t hesitate to reach out. Sometimes the smallest detail can crack a case wide open. Here's hoping for some real progress soon. ?
