Just learned about the case of Samantha Leighann Tapp, and something really stood out to me. It's odd that cigarette butts were found outside her grandparents’ house. I’m curious if anyone ever checked the DNA from those to see if they matched Samantha or someone else entirely? It might not give us all the answers, but knowing whether it was her smoking or possibly someone else involved could shed some light on what went on that night.
It's been so long, and I can't help but wonder if there are still unexamined clues like this. I know resources can be limited, but even small details might make a difference. What do you all think? Anyone know if the detectives working her case considered this angle?
Has anyone else looked into the 2007 lead where Samantha reportedly contacted her uncle? I find this really intriguing since it was supposedly her reaching out of her own accord. If she was planning to move in with him but then decided against it because she met someone and was going to Florida, there seems to be more to this story. Were there any follow-ups on who this person might have been or where exactly in Florida she was headed? I can't help but wonder if she left some hint or clue during that call. It seems like an important piece of the puzzle that maybe didn't get enough traction at the time. Would love to hear thoughts from others who have been following her case.
