Has anyone here heard about the challenges faced by the families of unsolved murder victims in Detroit? I recently read about Quatez Oliver’s case, and my heart goes out to his loved ones who are still seeking answers more than a decade later. It's frustrating to think about how many families are in similar situations, waiting for justice without any closure. The Detroit Police Department's attempts at solving these cases, such as the Cold Case Unit and the cold case webpage, seem like steps in the right direction, but it's clear there's still a long way to go. The fact that so many cases are unsolved due to issues like resource limitations and lack of cooperation from witnesses is deeply concerning. I'm curious if anyone here has experience with how cold case units function in other cities. Do they have techniques or strategies that could potentially help in Detroit? At the very least, I hope sharing stories like Quatez's can keep the conversation going and perhaps encourage someone with crucial information to come forward.
