I can’t stop thinking about Jordan Bradford’s case and how his mom, Bernadette, immediately had to face the overwhelming financial burden of laying him to rest. It’s hard enough for a parent to lose a child, let alone worry about how to cover funeral expenses. The fact she had to set up a memorial fund speaks volumes about the unexpected nature of this tragedy. It's heartening to see the community come together to support her in this difficult time, but it's also a reminder of how unprepared we are for such violent losses. It's deeply concerning that this isn't an isolated incident in Portsmouth. Anthony Wilson’s case just a few years later shows this pattern of violence hasn't let up. It makes me wonder what measures, if any, are being put in place to prevent more cases like these. With no suspects apprehended in these recent cases, it leaves a cloud of uncertainty and fear hanging over the community.
