Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Deshawn Ponder from 2012? I was just reading up on the events that happened on Pennsylvania Avenue, and it's really sad to see how young he was—just 17 years old. It makes you think about how these numbers in crime reports are actual lives, families, and communities affected. The fact that his death was just one of so many that year in Detroit is just devastating. I've seen some discussions mentioning community efforts to combat violence, but I'm wondering if there are any new developments or successful initiatives since that time? It's always hard to see young people's lives cut so short, and I hope there are ongoing efforts to honor their memories and prevent these tragedies from happening again.
