I can't stop thinking about the role that the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) played in linking Terell Stokes to Supreia Wilson's tragic murder. It's amazing how technology can assist in solving crimes and, hopefully, bring some measure of justice to her grieving family. The use of NIBIN in this case highlights the importance of having reliable systems in place to track and match ballistic evidence. It makes me wonder how many other cases have been solved—or could be solved—through similar methods. My heart goes out to Supreia's loved ones; knowing that this tool has moved the investigation forward might offer a glimmer of hope amidst such a devastating loss. Anyone else think that expanding access and training on these types of technologies could help law enforcement solve more cases and prevent future ones?
