I recently came across the case of Robert Roach, and something that's been on my mind is how dangerous the Straits of Mackinac can be during winter. Having grown up in the Midwest, I know how unpredictable ice conditions can get, especially with currents underneath. It makes me wonder if there were any warnings or public advisories about ice safety at the time he went missing. Were there others who successfully crossed the same route around that date? It might help determine if it was a sudden change in conditions or something else that played a role in his disappearance. It's been over a decade, and I truly hope someone comes forward with new information to help his family find closure.
Hey everyone,
I've been reading through the case of Robert Roach's disappearance, and one thing that's stuck with me is how much we've now learned about the risks involved in crossing the Straits of Mackinac during winter. It seems like Robert was a pretty experienced snowmobiler, which just goes to show that nature doesn't play favorites. I'm curious if there have been any movements to implement more safety measures or warnings for folks attempting that trip. Maybe better signage or even local advisories during bad weather? It’s haunting to think someone with skills like his could vanish so completely. Hoping the family gets some answers one day. Any thoughts or updates from those familiar with the area?
