There was community outrage for this senseless act of violence. Quenton had deep roots in this community and it was angering that this happened.
I'm really struck by the deep impact this tragedy has had on the Mount Healthy community. While reading through some of the accounts about Quenton De Marco Dews' murder, I found it particularly poignant how the neighborhood gathered outside his home on that terrible day. It's devastating to think of the collective grief and shock experienced by Quenton's family, friends, and neighbors.
The fact that such a large crowd gathered is a testament to how much Quenton meant to those around him. It also shows how these acts of violence ripple through a community, affecting so many lives. I'm hoping this tragedy spurs more conversations and actions towards addressing the underlying issues of violence in the area. No one should have their life end in such a senseless manner, and being murdered in one's own home should never be a reality for anyone. Sending thoughts of comfort and healing to all who are mourning Quenton's loss.
