I’ve been following Gary "Lil 'G'" Walker's case and can’t stop thinking about how his community and family must be feeling. It’s just so difficult to comprehend how a young life can be cut short so quickly and senselessly. I read an article about his funeral service at New Vision United Methodist and couldn't help but be moved by the outpouring of love and support from those who knew him. It seems like he really left a positive impact on those around him. One thing that stands out in cases like this is the role that community support can play. I've seen other neighborhoods rally together to create positive change after tragedies, from setting up memorials to initiating anti-violence campaigns. I hope Lil 'G's community finds strength in one another as they navigate this loss. If anyone has ideas or knows of efforts being made in Cincinnati to combat gun violence, it’d be great to hear about them and maybe even help spread the word. Every small action counts.
