It's so devastating to read about what happened to Zho'Nasia. While everyone's been focused on the shooting itself and the court proceedings, I can't stop thinking about the impact this must have on her classmates and teachers at Rosa Parks School. How do you even begin to explain to kids that age what happened to their friend? We often forget how deeply these events affect the people around the victim – especially other young kids who are still figuring out the world. I hope the school is offering some support and counseling for them. It must be incredibly difficult for them to process and cope with this loss, especially since Zho'Nasia seemed like such a lively presence in their lives. Sending love and strength to everyone affected, and hoping that as a community, we can stand together to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
