Does anyone know if they ever checked surveillance footage from the gas station in Weslaco where Maria Sandoval was last seen? I know it's been over a decade, but it seems like that could've been a major piece of evidence early on. I can't imagine they didn't review it, but I'm always surprised how much gets missed in these cases. If they did review any footage, I wonder why there hasn't been any mention of what they found (or didn't find). It's just so baffling how someone can just vanish like that. Would love to hear if anyone knows more about this aspect of the investigation!
I was recently looking into Maria Sandoval’s case, and something that's been really puzzling to me is how there seems to be such a huge gap in the timeline from when she was last seen to when the authorities were alerted. I read that she was supposed to be picked up from the gas station in Weslaco, but does anyone know who was scheduled to pick her up? It’s strange that whoever was supposed to meet her didn’t raise the alarm sooner or at least hasn't been mentioned much in any reports I've come across. The lack of information on that critical window of time just seems odd. Has anyone else dug up anything more on this angle or have any thoughts on why there might be such a lack of details?
