Hey everyone,
I can’t stop thinking about how senseless and tragic Aniyah’s death was. It's so devastating to lose someone so young with such a bright future ahead. What really stands out to me is how this incident unfolded right after an altercation at her workplace. It's alarming how a disagreement could escalate to something so deadly so quickly. The fact that she had plans to attend college and join Job Corps says so much about her ambitions and determination. Hearing about how focused and driven she was makes this all the more saddening.
I also can't help but feel for Aniyah’s family—especially her sister, Aaliyah. I hope community support is wrapping around them during this difficult time. It’s heartening to see how the community rallied, but I wish it didn’t have to be under these circumstances. Does anyone have more information about measures being taken in Columbus to address gun violence? This is the 114th homicide, and it's just too much...
Sending strength and love to Aniyah’s loved ones ❤️
I've been thinking a lot about Aniyah's future and how promising it was before this senseless tragedy took it away. Graduating early, being in the top third of her class, and being accepted into college at Columbus State speaks volumes about her dedication and ambition. It's so devastating to see someone who was on the cusp of starting an exciting new chapter have it cut short. She must have left such a positive impression on everyone around her, from her classmates and teachers to her coworkers at Kroger. It's hard to fathom the grief her family is experiencing right now; my heart goes out to them. I hope this community can continue to rally around them and honor Aniyah's legacy by pushing for change to reduce violence in the area. The systemic issues leading to these tragic events need to be addressed, so we don't lose more bright young people like Aniyah.
