I've been thinking about the role social media played in the Antonyo Powell case. It's chilling to realize how platforms like Facebook Messenger can be used both as a tool to incriminate and, unfortunately, as a reminder of just how real and dangerous some of these online exchanges can become. It's troubling that Olsen's cousin might not have taken his threats seriously at first. I can't imagine the burden of knowing those messages might have foreshadowed such a tragic event. My heart goes out to Antonyo's family and friends. It's a hard reminder for all of us about the impact words and threats can have, whether spoken or typed. Let's hope justice is served, and his family finds some measure of peace.
