Did anyone else catch the vigil the community held for Dontae Malone last week? It was such a touching tribute to a young man who was taken too soon. The outpouring of love and support from his family, friends, and community members was truly moving. You could feel how deeply he was cherished by everyone who knew him. It’s hard to wrap your head around the senselessness of the violence that ended his life. I didn’t know Dontae personally, but from everything I’ve read and heard, he had so much potential and was really loved by his community. It’s clear that he had a profound impact on those around him. I hope that justice is served swiftly and that his family can find some peace during this incredibly challenging time.
