Hey everyone, I've been following the case of Lawrence McKissic from Cleveland and can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on his community and family. I read that the incident happened at a drive-thru convenience store. It just makes me think about how such everyday places can become scenes of such sorrow. Those places are supposed to be part of our daily routine, a quick stop while heading home or meeting up with friends. It’s so hard to comprehend how a young life was cut short there over an argument, and by someone even younger. Lawrence was just 18, with dreams and plans like anyone else his age. His family is undoubtedly going through such a tough time, and the community as well. Seeing everyone rally around to remember him and bring attention to youth violence means so much. We really need more conversations on how to protect our youth from getting into situations like this. I hope this prompts more preventive measures, so no other family has to suffer through such a senseless loss. Sending all my thoughts to Lawrence's loved ones and hoping for positive change.
