Did anyone else hear about the ongoing discussions at North Mecklenburg High about boosting security measures following Elaine's passing? I think it's a step in the right direction. While it's a shame that it took such a terrible event to spark change, it's important that the school is taking the safety of their students more seriously now. Some parents I spoke to are still concerned and feel like more should be done, like stricter policies around unsupervised gatherings. My heart goes out to Elaine's family; no parent should ever have to endure such a loss. Let's hope that by addressing these issues, we can prevent further tragedies from happening.
