Hey everyone, I've been following the Pinelake Health and Rehab Center case and it's just so sad to think about the last moments of the victims, especially Lillian Dunn. I can't even imagine the fear and confusion they must have felt. I've read through a lot of discussions here, but I noticed not much focus has been put on Officer Justin Garner's bravery during the tragic event. He was off-duty and put himself in harm’s way to stop the attacker, getting injured in the process. It's tragic that eight lives were lost that day, but it could have been even worse if not for his quick action. I hope he's been able to heal, both physically and emotionally, from that day. Security in nursing homes is a big concern, and incidents like this make it clear that we need to protect some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. My heart goes out to all the families affected and to the Carthage community as a whole. If anyone has more information on what's been done since then to improve safety in these environments, I'd be really interested in hearing about it. Stay safe, everyone.

I recently came across some details about the Carthage shooting, and while the entire thing is beyond tragic, I wanted to touch on something that really struck me about Lillian Dunn’s story. From what I understand, she had lived a long life and deserved to spend her final years in peace and safety, yet she fell victim to such senseless violence. It's scary to think how vulnerable residents and staff in nursing homes can be. While there’s been a lot of talk about improving security since then, I wonder if there have been any real changes or implementations to prevent something like this from happening again. Families trust these facilities to take care of their loved ones, and it's chilling to think that such a trust can be shattered so quickly. My heart goes out to her family and everyone affected — losing a loved one in such circumstances must be incredibly difficult. My thoughts are with them, and I hope they’ve found some peace over the years. If anyone has insights into what measures have been put in place after the incident, I'd be interested to hear about it.
